add postage & packing, rate C if required ref: br-raftunicf-1116 RAF Pilot's Tunic - rank Pilot Officer - dated 1939 - complete with original Pilot's Wings We are still researching this item - The label indictes the Pilot's surname as 'Martin' and the "Repeat Order" gives his initials as A.C.M. - The RAF records we have found so far record only one officer with these initials and surname "Squadron Leader A. C. Martin of 261 Squadron", one of the 3 RAF Pilots flying the 3 famous Gloster Gladiators 'Faith, Hope and Charity' during the siege of Malta in June 1940. Did A. C. Martin attain the rank of Squadron Leader by June 1940 from the rank of Pilot Officer in 1939? Any help or information to assist us in this research would be much appreciated - watch this space |
