ref: tru-italpenmm-db Italian Opera Naionale Balilla pennant (Italian Fascist Youth Organisation) - Bullion weave - 3 ties for attaching to a pole - Italian Flag colours to the reverse - Includes a fabulous example of an embroidered Fasces (Roman symbol of power and authority from which the word Fascist is derived) These pennants were carried and displayed on poles during meets and marches by members of the OLB (the Italian equivalent of the Hitler Youth) between 1926 and 1937 when the OLB was absorbed into the GIL (Youth section of the National Fascist Party).
