  • A large, solid silver and gilt Third Reich Sporting Medal - Incredible quality of raised detail - material: "990" is the symbol used for pure (99%) silver - inscribed to the obverse "Bay.Kraftsport.Meisterschaften 1935 Gau XVI (appears to translate as Power or possibly Weight Lifting Championships 1935 Gau District 16 )" - Gau were the main Administrative divisions of Nazi Germany so presumably "XVI" was the administrative zone 16 - the image to the Obverse is of the Berlin Parthenon Museum (Pergamon Museum - built 1930) - to the reverse raised Swaztika and Oakleaves, engraved "3.PR.ST" and "990" silver mark

    First awarded on 30 Jan 1940 - These medals were awarded to members of the NSDAP (Nazi Party) for 10 years unbroken service - years from 1925 to 33 (Time of Struggle - Kampfzeit) counted as double.

  • 3rd Reich SS 4 Year Long Service Medal in its original award box with intact lining and original ribbon with a length of period spare ribbon.

    This medal was only awarded to NCO's not officers and therefore is thought to be harder to find than the 8year long service medal

    The medal itself is in excellent condition. The ribbon attached to the medal is worn and faded although a length of unused ribbon was in the box and is included (see 'More Images'). The box is intact but is shows wear comsenurate with its age and handling

    Spanish Blue Division Medal (Division Espanola de Voluntatios) - award established 3 Jan 1944 - material: Zinc alloy with a bronze wash - original ribbon, similar to the Iron Cross ribbon but with an additional yellow stripe to represent the Spanish flag - obverse of the design includes the Falang and the Iron Cross Oak leaves

    The Spanish Blue Division (Division Espanola de Voluntatios) an Infantry Unit of Spanish Volunteers totalling 18,104 men, named 'Blue' because of their blue shirts in their on-leave uniform, were the only component in the Third Reich Army (Heer) to be awarded a medal of their own, commissioned by Hitler after their effectiveness in impeeding the advance of the Red Army

    Excellent, used but undamaged condition with unusually most of the original plating remaining

    Awarded to military personnel and both German and Sudeten State Officials who paticipated in the re-unification of the Sudetenland wih the greater Reich following the occupation of the Sudetenland and later the remnants of Czechoslovakia. A total of 1,162,617 were medals awarded
